Burgh had the short trip to Tulloch Park to face Kinnoull in the Alex Jack Cup. A spirited and determined performance saw the visitors off to a bright start. But two second half goals from the hosts looked like sending Burgh out until a late equaliser from Lyall Brown forced a penalty shoot-out with a perfect set of kicks from Brown, Cammy Newsome, Kieran Twaddell, Finn McLaren and skipper Blair Campbell were assisted by keeper Ben Duffield in sealing progression to Round 2.
