Whilst the club has been preparing for the new season, it is important to thank players who are moving on during the summer also.
We would like to thank Andrew Cameron, Harris Mitchell, Ronan Hall and Josh Lindsay who are leaving the club following the end of their contracts.
Andrew has been with the club for a number of years and has been captain for a number of seasons also. He has been a consistent fixture in the Burgh line up throughout the duration of his time at the club and he will leave a significant gap in the team.
In my time at the club, he has amassed 84 appearances and 8 goals – but unfortunately I don’t have records prior to that but it’s certain to say he’s managed well over 100+ games for the club and scored a few more too.
Harris joined the club from Balgonie Scotia and made his debut in July 2022 away at Dalkeith Thistle. In that time, he has notched up 59 appearances and 6 sub appearances, playing in a variety of positions from alongside Andrew in the heart of defence, to midfield and also left back too. Harris’s determination to succeed and win will surely see him onto better things.
Ronan Hall initially appeared for the club in midfield, making his debut in a 1-1 draw against Thornton Hibs in August 2022 after signing from Hillfield Swifts. After returning from injury last season, manager Andy Healy thrust him up top after previously working with Ronan and it yielded immediate results with goals.
It was a position that many were aware of his talents, but Ronan’s performances as a striker and hold up play drew attention. In his time at the club, Ronan made 33 starts and 8 sub appearances scoring 5 goals.
Josh Lindsay joined the club in November 2023 from amateur side St. Monans Swallows. Primarily playing at right back, Josh amassed 15 appearances during his spell at the club.
Also, we thank Cammy Taylor who joined the club on loan for the end of last season. Cammy performed in exemplary fashion and has a bright future in the game as he returns to his parent club.
Everyone at Newburgh wish Andrew, Harris, Ronan, Josh and Cammy all the very best for their futures and thank them for their hard-work and contributions.
