Newburgh are delighted to welcome summer signing number 8 to the club, this time an addition to the coaching team. A warm welcome to Kieran Johnston.
‘Johnny’ is a 26-year-old coach who previously played for Kirkcaldy and Dysart for 7 years until a serious injury sadly ended his playing career.
Manager Andy Healy is delighted with ‘Johnny’ joining the coaching and management team: “Johnny is a really important addition to the club on so many levels. He has a tremendous football mind and was a brilliant player who as a fantastic understanding of the game.
Healy continued: “We worked together when we were both previously at Kirkcaldy and when he signed as a 19-year-old. Not only did I realise he was a tremendous player I could see straight away his understanding of the game was to a very high level and he was one of the players after training who would always ask questions and give observations.
Healy continued: “Johnny is also a tremendous person who has a great attitude, fantastic professionalism towards the game and can help in the development of the players and will be brilliant for the squad.”
The Burgh manager went on to add: “To have Johnny joining the coaching and management team, in my opinion, is only the start for him as I am sure he will be a fantastic coach and manager and will be very successful in either or both roles and he can give a lot to the game in the years ahead. It is great to have him with us at the club.”
Welcome to the Burgh!
