Lee Butler, Davie Whittaker and Mike Houghton were up in Scotland completing the NC500 tour when they contacted us to ask if they could pop in on their return back home.

Who are they? Well, Lee, Davie and Mike have taken a vested interest in this ‘Burgh’ because they have also come from Newburgh… But Newburgh in Lancashire.

Jez was delighted to welcome the guys from Newburgh SC for a tour around East Shore Park and photos. The Lancashire Newburgh are a club based close to Wigan with a number of sides within the Warrington, Wigan Amateur and South Lancashire Counties Leagues.

It was great to meet the guys and exchange stories and info about each club and ideas etc and we hope to keep in touch and follow each other throughout the course of the season and onwards.

Indeed, Lee has mentioned his hope to bring his team up to Fife sometime next year for a few friendlies and then hopefully tie in with a ‘Burgh’ home match for him and his squad to cheer Andy Healy’s men on.

Thanks for the visit and it was great to meet you all and from this Burgh we wish the Lancashire Burgh the best of luck for the season. We’ll be following your progress.
